Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease and post-surgical needs.
- Monitor and support patients with complex conditions such as ventricular assist devices, heart transplants, and those on ECMO/CRRT.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in electronic health records.
- Assist with procedures such as cardiac catheterization and ventilatory management.
- Participate in on-call rotations and adapt to unit needs as required.
Required Qualifications
- Active multi-state or South Carolina RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with pediatric cardiac ICU experience preferred.
- Valid PALS and BLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
- Experience with VAD, pediatric cardiology, or similar specialties highly valued.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Beacon Award-winning pediatric cardiac ICU.
- Knowledge of ECMO/CRRT and complex supportive therapies.
- Experience working within a Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment.
- Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.
