Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric cardiac ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease, post-surgical patients, and patients requiring complex support therapies.
- Monitor and support patients with Ventricular Assist Devices, ECMO, and heart transplants, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications, manage ventilatory and cardiac support, and coordinate with ancillary services such as respiratory therapy and pediatric pharmacy.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in an EMR system.
- Adhere to hospital policies, maintain patient safety, and respond effectively to emergency situations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience.
- Valid RN license in South Carolina or a multi-state/compact license.
- Current certifications: PALS and BLS (American Heart Association only).
- Experience with Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD) highly preferred.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with VAD management, ECMO, or heart transplant patients.
- Familiarity with pediatric palliative care services.
- Previous experience in a Magnet-designated, award-winning unit.

- Average census is 26, with a diverse mix of surgical and medical cardiac diagnoses.
- The facility offers advanced therapies including ECMO, CRRT, and complex supportive care.
- Housing options include parking permits at the hospital garage ($20 registration fee).
- No travel partnerships or travel pair restrictions.
- Guaranteed hours with potential for shift cancellations once every two weeks.
- RTO requests must be submitted with the application and are subject to unit needs.
