Full-time, Days, 3x12 or 4x12 shifts, weekdays with every other weekend, float as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Surgical and Telemetry unit with a focus on acute cardiac conditions, including MI, unstable angina, CHF, arrhythmias, CVA, and surgical patients
• Manage a patient load of up to 5 patients, with potential to assist with LPN patients during staffing shortages
• Perform specialized procedures such as cardioversion, TEE, thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, central line placement, paracentesis, post-cardiac cath/angiogram, PTCA, and drips including heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, dopamine, and nitro
• Float within scope of practice to support unit staffing needs, maintaining flexibility in patient assignments
• Adhere to clinical protocols focusing on adult and geriatric populations, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Valid WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in a specialized cardiac or medical-surgical setting
• BLS/BCLS certification; ACLS certification preferred
• Certification in necessary cardiac procedures and experience with drips and ventilated patients
• Ability to work a guaranteed 36 hours per week and participate in orientation sessions held every other week

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with invasive procedures such as thoracentesis, chest tube insertion, central line insertion, paracentesis, and post-cardiac procedures
• Knowledge of Cerner charting system and hospital protocols
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations in a cardiac care environment
