Key Responsibilities
- Float between departments and local facilities within a 20-mile radius as needed.
- Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during each shift.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, and equitable care for all patients.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and responses.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Follow established protocols and standards of care; initiate, utilize, and document treatments and medication administration as prescribed.
- Address patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the care episode.
- Supervise and provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel.
- Complete patient education, competency testing, and adhere to unit-specific standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active Nursing License in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
- BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- At least one 13-week travel nursing assignment completed.
- Minimum of two years of current experience in a medical-surgical specialty.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic health record experience (training available onsite).
- Flexibility and adaptability to fast-paced healthcare environments.
