Tech Perfusionist
Job Title
• Perfusionist - Pediatric Cardiac
Location
• Nashville, TN
Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Days shifts, 4-10 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM), with 1 call every 3rd weekend
Key Responsibilities
• Operate perfusion equipment for pediatric cardiac patients, including Spectrum HLM, Hepcon HMS, Frensenius CATS Cell Saver, Hemochron Jr.ACT, and CardioQuip Heater Coolers
• Support patients aged 0-21 years with congenital heart conditions, excluding ECMO but including VAD (Centrimag, Pedimag, Heartmate III, Berlin)
• Manage perfusion runs using an N+1 model, ensuring patient safety during procedures
• Collaborate with surgical teams during pediatric cardiac surgeries
• Respond to on-call requirements for weekend call duties
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of perfusion experience, including 1 year in a Level 3 Trauma facility
• Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP)
• valid Tennessee Clinical Perfusionist License
• Ability to operate Point-of-Care (POC) devices
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Prior travel experience preferred but not required
• Experience managing pediatric congenital heart patients and VAD support
• Strong understanding of pediatric perfusion equipment and procedures
