Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients, including those undergoing chemotherapy, biotherapy, and surgical procedures
• Monitor patient conditions using portable equipment and interpret strips as needed
• Assess and manage patients with diagnoses such as lymphoma, neutropenia, prostatectomy, nephrectomy, gynecological and lung cancers, anemia, and pancreatitis
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments, ensuring adherence to safety protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and maintain accurate patient documentation
Required Qualifications
• Valid ONS – Provider Card and BLS certifications
• Active BLS and ACLS certifications preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar setting
• Certification in chemotherapy/biotherapy through ONS required
• Must pass an advanced dysrhythmia assessment (EKG exam required)
• Experience with interpreting ECG strips occasionally
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with complex oncology cases, including surgical and medical oncology
• Ability to perform and interpret EKGs and other diagnostic equipment
• Strong assessment and patient advocacy skills
