Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide direct patient care for an assigned group of ICU patients during each shift.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and responses.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Initiate, follow, and document protocols and standards of care appropriately.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians or protocols, ensuring proper documentation.
• Identify and address patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the care episode.
• Supervise clinical staff including Licensed Practical Nurses and non-licensed assistive personnel.
• Complete patient-specific education, procedures, and competency testing per unit standards.

Required Qualifications

• Current Nursing license in the State of New Mexico or a Compact State.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
• NIHSS certification.
• Successful passing of onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test within the first week of assignment.
• Must have at least one 13-week previous travel nursing assignment.
• Minimum of two years of current experience in ICU.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• EPIC electronic medical record system experience (training available onsite).
