Key Responsibilities

• Assist during surgical procedures by maintaining a sterile field and providing instrumentation to the surgical team.
• Ensure proper packaging, processing, and sterilization of instruments, verifying integrity and expiration.
• Monitor the sterile field for potential contamination or interference, initiating corrective actions as needed under supervision.
• Support room preparation, patient transports, and turnover activities to promote efficient surgical workflows.
• Maintain current knowledge of surgical technologies, procedures, and standards such as those from AORN.
• Communicate effectively with the perioperative team, participating in safety protocols including Time Out, Briefings, and Debriefings.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program or licensed Surgical Technologist certification in the state of Colorado.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Ability to obtain computer skills required for online learning, documentation, and policies within 90 days.
• Strong command of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking skills.
• Ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and various physical movements.
• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with Tier 1 surgical cases.
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation, sterilization processes, and perioperative safety standards.
