Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care on a 42-bed Stroke and Heart Failure unit, working with patients diagnosed with neurological and cardiac conditions.
- Float to other units and hospitals as needed to ensure proper staffing coverage.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and neurologists to deliver specialized, high-quality care.
- Ensure adherence to best practice standards in a fast-paced, complex neuro-cardiac environment.
- Use Meditech EMR to document patient care and treatment plans.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in nursing (ADN) or higher.
- Valid Alabama registered nurse license or compact license (no temporary licenses accepted).
- BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in the specialty of cardiac or neurological care, or 18 months with high-level licensure.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in a telemetry or step-down unit.
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR and hospital protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high patient acuity.
