Key Responsibilities
• Provide emergency medical care and transportation to patients in pre-hospital settings.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment such as Zoll cardiac monitors and IV pumps.
• Administer medication and perform procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, and patient assessment.
• Ensure safety and comfort of patients during transport across various levels of service, including behavioral health, BLS, ALS, and critical care.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records (EMR).
• Adhere to unit policies, safety protocols, and certification requirements.

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of one year of full-time active pre-hospital care or equivalent.
• Must be over 21 years of age.
• Valid North Carolina Paramedic Certification and continuing education (CE) compliance.
• Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, PHTLs / ITLS, BLS.
• Must have and maintain at least two years of satisfactory driving experience meeting insurance guidelines.

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Boarded with Buncombe County Medical Director.
• Bachelor’s degree in EMS or related field.
• National Registry certification.
• Experience with behavioral health transport and working with various patient populations.
