Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, develop, and implement occupational therapy programs for patients across all age groups, focusing on activities of daily living, sensorimotor, perceptual-motor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of physical, psychological, cognitive, and social needs, and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the rehabilitation team to select and modify appropriate therapy interventions based on patient capabilities and progress.
  • Teach patients skills and techniques to promote independence, self-care, and recovery, and monitor their progress throughout treatment.
  • Design, fabricate, and fit adaptive devices such as splints and braces to support patient rehabilitation.
  • Provide occupational therapy services in hospital, home health, outpatient, and community settings, including ergonomic assessments and recommendations.
  • Document patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes effectively to ensure optimal care.
  • Supervise and guide Rehab Aides, students, and support staff to maintain efficient departmental operations.
  • Participate in training medical and nursing personnel on occupational therapy techniques and objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current licensure and registration by NBCOT and licensure in North Dakota.
  • CPR certification (renewed biennially).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess and adapt treatment plans continuously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to community and external sites.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience as an occupational therapist.
  • Experience in hand therapy, TBI/stroke, Parkinson's disease, vision therapy, or lymphedema management.
  • Prior experience providing services in inpatient, outpatient, or home health settings.
