Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and coordinate care for residents according to individual care plans and facility standards
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, making necessary adjustments to care plans
- Safeguard residents’ property, privacy, and confidentiality while promoting independence and personal choice
- Maintain safe, clean, and welcoming living areas for residents
- Process physician orders promptly and notify relevant staff in a timely manner
- Observe, document, and communicate residents’ conditions and care needs effectively
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and assist with transfers using proper equipment
- Educate residents and families/significant others about care and procedures
- Use electronic medical records accurately and follow safety protocols for all procedures
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Valid RN license for the state of practice
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Basic nursing skills with knowledge of medication effects and side effects
- Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing
- Familiarity with the use of transfer equipment such as gait belts, lifts, and slide boards
