Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients in an intermediate care/stepdown unit with an emphasis on cardiac monitor management and IV therapy.
- Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed, including coverage during weekdays and some weekends, with every other weekend off.
- Monitor patient ratios typically ranging from 1:3 to 1:5 to ensure safe and effective care.
- Administer medications, including IV insulin and other cardiac-related treatments, utilizing EPIC electronic health records.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols including BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and coordinate effectively with the healthcare team.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemonitoring, and intermediate nursing skills.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in a similar unit.
- Experience with cardiac patient management and IV insulin GTT protocols.
