Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to intermediate and progressive care patients, including those recovering from bariatric surgery, urologic procedures, hepatobiliary surgeries, colorectal surgeries, and trauma cases.
- Float within scope across departments and units to meet facility needs.
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, and document patient care accurately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Support patients with complex wound care needs, including serial debridements and wound vac management.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and clinical protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license pending acceptance is acceptable.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification is required.
- Ability to work night shifts, including weekends (8 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday).
- Flexibility to float as needed within scope.
- Willingness to accept open schedule and work at least 3 guaranteed shifts per 13 weeks.
- No residency restrictions; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for bariatric, urologic, hepatobiliary, colorectal, or trauma patients.
- Familiarity with complex wound care and serial debridements.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
