Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in the operating room.
• Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
• Monitor patient status throughout surgical procedures, responding to emergencies as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain sterile techniques and ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards.
• Document patient care activities and surgical procedures accurately.

Required Qualifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications via American Heart Association.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergency or crisis situations.
• Physical ability to handle prolonged standing, walking, and patient handling.
• Excellent communication skills tailored to patient and team needs.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least 1 year of operating room nursing experience.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
