Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Alamogordo, NM

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, travel position, multiple shifts available (in-time can vary from 3pm to 7pm), 13-week assignment

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a busy Emergency Department, managing a wide range of cases from strokes and STEMIs to traumas and postpartum complications.
• Administer medications, treatments, and monitor for side effects, ensuring patient safety and treatment efficacy.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication administration, and care provided accurately in electronic health records.
• Assess, diagnose, and develop care plans for patients, addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive emergency care.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications from AHA.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in emergency or acute care settings.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred).

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience managing diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adults, trauma, and post-surgical patients.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Note: Shifts will vary between 3pm and 7pm start times with overnight hours, and a commitment of 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks, plus 2 on-call shifts as required. Floating is unlikely but may be requested based on census needs.
