Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, Night shifts, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Key Responsibilities
• Provide professional nursing care to obstetrics and gynecology patients, including low-risk OB patients and stable newborns.
• Stabilize newborns and assist with cesarean sections as a circulator.
• Monitor patient conditions using fetal and neonatal monitoring systems, read FHR strips, and ensure fetal well-being.
• Collaborate with OB Techs, Charge Nurses, and physicians to deliver safe and effective patient care.
• Titrate medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium, and manage Drips including Heparin (with ICU or MedSurg support).
• Assist in emergency situations and ensure compliance with safety protocols during labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
Required Qualifications
• Valid Illinois Registered Nurse license or active application in process.
• Certifications: NRP, ACLS, BLS, EFM.
• Experience in stabilization of newborns and circulating in cesarean sections.
• Ability to read fetal and adult monitoring strips.
• Basic understanding of titratable IV drips, including Pitocin and Magnesium.
• Knowledge of OB unit protocols and patient safety standards.
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience working in a Level I perinatal/nursery setting as designated by the State of Illinois.
• Familiarity with OB-specific equipment such as Neopuff, heated high flow nasal cannula, and Cpap for newborns.
• Prior experience floating across units and working in a fast-paced OB environment.
