Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for obstetric, newborn, and postpartum patients following established protocols.
- Stabilize newborns and assist in the management of C-sections, including circulator duties.
- Monitor fetal and maternal status using advanced electronic monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare team, including OB techs, surgeons, and physicians, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer and titrate medications such as Pitocin and Magnesium as prescribed.
- Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Registered Nurse license or active application in process.
- Certification in NRP, ACLS, BLS, and EFM.
- Experience with stabilization of newborns and circulating duties for C-sections.
- Ability to read and interpret fetal heart rate strips.
- Knowledge of OB protocols and procedures per AWHONN guidelines.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience on obstetric units, including high- and low-risk obstetric care.
- Familiarity with fetal monitoring systems such as Philips Fetal Monitoring, EPIC, and OBIX.
- Experience managing titrable IV medications such as Pitocin and Mag.
