Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, contract, 13-week assignment, nights shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized care for cardiac surgery patients in the CVICU.
- Manage direct open-heart admissions from the OR, including pressure monitoring and Swan-Ganz catheter management.
- Monitor Impella devices and utilize CRRT as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to assess patient acuity and deliver appropriate care.
- Document patient progress accurately using electronic medical records.
- Respond to overflow patients requiring step-down level of care based on acuity.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, specifically in CVICU.
- Experience in direct open-heart admissions from the OR.
- Proficiency in pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT.
- Certification in ACLS and BLS.
- Activated Clotting Time (ACT) experience is required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Travel experience is not required.
- Blocked schedules for weekend-only shifts (Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon) will be considered.
- Familiarity with Cerner EMR.
