Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for a diverse patient population.
• Monitor and assess patient recovery from anesthesia, ensuring stability before transfer to the appropriate department.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgical teams, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
• Document patient status and care activities accurately using EMR systems, including EPIC, Optime, and Radiant.
• Follow departmental protocols and standards, adhering to safety and quality guidelines.
• Respond promptly to call requests within one hour and float within designated units as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license or proof of application initiation.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience with EPIC EMR systems, preferably with Optime and Radiant modules.
• Prior experience caring for orthopedic, urology, gynecology, general, bariatric, ENT, GI, cardiac, neuro, cath lab, EP lab, or pediatric patients.
• Knowledge of common diagnoses and patient care procedures in PACU setting.
• Ability to work various shifts, including evenings, with a call response time of within one hour.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac and EPIC experience highly preferred.
• Previous experience in a surgical or post-anesthesia care environment.
• Knowledge of hospital protocols regarding patient monitoring and recovery.
