Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, night shift (3/5 holidays required), 10 or 12-hour shifts, contract (15-17 weeks)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care in a hospital ICU environment, including ICU float pool assignments across various units such as MS, Tele, PCU, Overflow PACU, and Stepdown.
  • Administer medications, manage vents, perform IV starts, and conduct ICP monitoring with a focus on patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • Utilize skills in telemonitoring, conscious sedation, and PA lines, adhering to unit-specific protocols and standards.
  • Assess and respond to patient needs rapidly, supporting patients with neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, or transplant conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care during floating assignments across high-acuity units.
  • Maintain compliance with certification requirements and pass EKG screening on orientation first day.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience, including PA line skills (assessment during interview required).
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
  • Experience working in large hospital settings, including transplant units preferred.
  • Ability to perform vent management, IV starts, ICP monitoring, and telemonitoring.
  • Must pass EKG exam administered on the first day of orientation.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • ICU experience in neuro, respiratory failure, myocardial infarction, or hemodynamic instability units.
  • Exposure to transplant patient populations and Level I Trauma experience.
  • Certification such as CCRN is a plus.
  • Charge nurse experience is advantageous.
