Schedule / Job Type
Full-time, Night shifts, 3x12-hour shifts (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.), flexible during EOW and holidays, float required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for medical neurological patients in a 30-bed Neuro PCU department
- Monitor patients using centralized cardiac monitoring systems via CCMD
- Administer treatments including CVA management, external CPAP/BiPAP, TR bands, and perform Yale Swallowing screens
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient care accurately and adhere to safety and compliance standards
- Support patient and family education as needed
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina or nursing compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH stroke certification required
- Neuro PCU experience required, including diagnosis-specific skills such as CVA management and external CPAP/BiPAP
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with external CPAP/BiPAP, TR band management, and Yale Swallowing screen
- Ability to work in a fast-paced neuro-critical care environment
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
