- Cath Lab/Electrophysiology (EP) Technologist
Location
- Alamogordo, NM
Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, 4 days per week, day shift (10 hours per day)
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the cath lab for cardiac procedures and operate critical imaging and diagnostic equipment, including fluoroscopy and digital imaging systems.
- Support and assist physicians during procedures, ensuring patient safety, aseptic techniques, and proper positioning.
- Document patient data, hemodynamic measurements, and procedure details accurately in hospital systems.
- Maintain equipment functionality, conduct safety audits, and participate in departmental quality control.
- Act as radiation safety officer during imaging, promoting sterile technique, infection control, and team collaboration.
- Support patient transport and site management for procedures, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or a healthcare-related associate degree (bachelor’s preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 6 months for pediatric procedures.
- Certification in one of the following: RCIS, RCES, RCS, CI, CV, or VI.
- State licensure based on modality (e.g., RRT, CS, DMS, FUS, VS).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 0-1 year of experience in an acute care setting.
- Familiarity with intracardiac and vascular imaging technologies and interventions.
- Previous experience supporting cardiac catheterization or electrophysiology procedures.
