Registered Nurse - Ambulatory Care/Clinic/Outpatient

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, days shift, contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical support in an ambulatory surgical oncology center, primarily focusing on outpatient care.
• Assist with minor procedural tasks such as wound vac management, post-surgical drainage, and handling complications.
• Manage pre-surgical checklists, monitor messaging inboxes, and prioritize patient concerns.
• Obtain cardiac and pre-surgical clearance, place standing orders, and communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
• Follow up with patients post-surgery, monitor for complications, and address concerns promptly.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies via phone or messaging systems.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong nursing knowledge with the ability to support clinical and non-clinical tasks.
• Experience in surgical, medical, or oncological nursing preferred.
• Prior telephonic or triage nursing experience a plus.
• Knowledge of surgical clearance procedures beneficial.
• Ability to work independently with solid clinical judgment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Surgical, medical, or oncological nursing background.
• Experience with telehealth or triage nursing.
• Familiarity with preoperative and postoperative processes.

• Must have worked outside of BILH for at least 6 months (per diem, contract, or permanent).
• No local candidates within 50 miles preferred.

• Guaranteed hours are 72 biweekly, excluding on-call time.
