Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule / Job Type: Contract, Night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), 13-15 week assignments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide inpatient care for post-op kidney transplant patients and complex cases in a Stepdown/IMC setting.
• Administer medications, including IV fluids and vasoactive drugs like Milrinone, Dopamine, and Dobutamine.
• Monitor patients using invasive hemodynamic devices such as Swan-Ganz catheters and PA lines.
• Perform advanced skills including IV starts, telemetry, and patient assessments every 2 hours, ensuring high-quality care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage patients at moderate to high risk for dysrhythmias and pulmonary hypertension.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including flu vaccinations during flu season.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent PCU or Stepdown experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.
• EKG proficiency and ability to pass initial exam during orientation.
• Strong IV skills including IV starts and telemetry.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• NIH certification is a plus.
• Experience with invasive hemodynamic monitoring and managing chest tubes.
• Knowledge of pulmonary hypertension therapies and continuous infusion titers.
