Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, contingent on scheduling needs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for neuro telemetry patients, including those with CVA/TIA, subdural hematomas, and seizure disorders
- Manage post-operative recovery for surgical oncology patients (excluding chemotherapy administration), such as whipples, esophagectomies, and colon resections
- Care for vascular surgery patients following peripheral angiograms, with wounds from PAD, or post-surgical amputations
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4-5, with potential to float to medical-surgical units as needed
- Ensure compliance with all licensing, certification, and hospital protocols
Required Qualifications
- Valid Illinois RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Proven ability to care for neuro telemetry and surgical oncology patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience in neuro telemetry or vascular surgery units
- Ability to float between units and adapt to changing patient needs
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
