Job Title
• Sterile Processing Tech - Central Supply
Location
• Burlington, VT
Schedule / Job Type
• Mids (Evening/Night) shift, Contract for approximately 26-32 weeks
Key Responsibilities
• Perform decontamination, preparation, and sterilization of surgical instruments and endoscopes including robotic, laparoscopic, and other specialty scopes
• Operate sterilizers, including steam and low-temperature sterilization equipment, and maintain high levels of instrument reprocessing standards
• Manage loaner trays and be familiar with various scopes like Olympus, da Vinci, and others
• Ensure efficient processing times: less than 7 minutes for minor sets, under 4 minutes for dental sets, 15 minutes for orthopaedic trays
• Work as a float tech, covering multiple service lines such as robotics, cardiovascular, ENT, neuro, dental, and urology, among others
• Participate in bi-weekly orientations and work 2 out of 4 holidays, including major federal holidays when scheduled
• Maintain compliance with facility protocols and document all work accurately in the electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
• CRCST (HSPA) certification required; other certifications like CER, CIS, or CHL are a plus but not essential
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sterile processing within a hospital setting
• At least 2 prior travel assignments of 13 weeks or more within a facility managing 20+ operating rooms
• Experience in a high-volume academic medical center preferred
• Proven competence in decontamination, sterilization, and endoscope reprocessing
• Familiarity with Olympus scopes, washer/disinfectors, and loaner tray management
• Experienced with robotic surgeries, specifically DaVinci Xi, and handling delicate instrument sets
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Service line experience across multiple specialties
• Knowledge of scheduling and processing of varied surgical instruments and scopes
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
