Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit with a focus on stepdown, telemetry, and surgical/telemetry units.
- Float to similar units as needed, including post-op cardiac care, with experience in open and closed heart surgeries.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Manage patients with large trauma cases in a Level 1 trauma facility, adhering to strict safety and care protocols.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record system and participate in bi-weekly orientation sessions.
- Provide care for cardiac and vascular patients, including post-operative cardiac patients on their first day post-surgery.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an IMC, PCU, or stepdown unit.
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date.
- Recent experience in a Level 1 trauma facility within the past year.
- Epic EMR system experience within the past 2 years.
- Experience with cardiothoracic, vascular, and post-op cardiac care (both open and closed hearts).
- Valid nursing license applicable to the state of practice.
- Must be willing to work 2 out of 4 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Day).
- Reliable transportation, with vehicles equipped for winter conditions (November - April).
Preferred Experience / Skills
- PCCN certification is a plus.
- Experience working with large trauma cases and in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing unit needs and float efficiently.

- Travel rate: $100/hour, with local and radius pay options.
- Assignment start date: November 3rd, with orientation scheduled for November 17th.
- Commitment to working all scheduled shifts, including weekends and designated holidays.
