Key Responsibilities

• Assist in vascular surgical procedures with a focus on cardiovascular operations.
• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed strictly.
• Handle specimen labeling and specimen handling in accordance with protocol.
• Utilize specialized skills in CVOR and cardiac cases, demonstrating proficiency in operating room equipment and techniques.
• Adhere to universal protocols including timeout procedures, radiation, laser, fire safety, and sterilization/disinfection processes.
• Support surgical team with scrubbing and assisting during procedures, ensuring patient safety and compliance.

Required Qualifications

• CST certification with verification of a technical diploma from CST training (no high school diploma or unrelated college diplomas accepted).
• Minimum of 2 years of vascular surgical tech experience.
• NBSTSA certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Proficient in CVOR/Surgical procedures with experience in cardiac cases.
• Ability to perform sterile techniques and adhere to safety protocols.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with radiation, laser, and fire safety in surgical settings.
• Knowledge of specimen handling and sterilization/disinfection procedures.
• Flexibility to work every third weekend rotation.
