Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: Lincoln, ME
Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, Nights shift

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide urgent and effective nursing care to emergency room patients across all age groups.
• Perform initial patient assessments and ongoing re-evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Administer medications accurately, ensuring patient safety and response monitoring.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and communicate updates.
• Document all patient care activities in compliance with hospital policies and standards.
• Assist in discharge planning and patient/family education.
• Maintain a safe environment, ensuring supplies and equipment are in proper working order.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and emergency/disaster preparedness activities.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in Maine or a compact state.
• Current and unexpired immunizations, including Varicella (vaccination or titer), HepB (vaccination or declination), MMR (vaccination or titer), Tdap, and PPD (within the past 12 months). HepB declination is accepted.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Ability to problem solve, demonstrate critical thinking, and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of nursing assessment and interventions suitable for all age groups.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, and lift up to 30 lbs; visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Previous ER nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of emergency protocols and disaster response procedures.
