Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a busy surgical oncology and medical-surgical stepdown unit.
- Manage patients with diagnoses including surgical oncology, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive procedures.
- Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, and manage oncologic emergencies such as cytokine release syndrome.
- Monitor and respond to patient needs, ensuring adherence to infection prevention protocols and fall prevention measures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver personalized patient care and ensure safe, effective treatment.
- Document patient interventions accurately using electronic medical records.
Required Qualifications
- Valid registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in acute care settings.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
- Experience with computerized charting systems, preferably EPIC.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Oncology nursing experience, including chemotherapy administration.
- Knowledge of complex medical-surgical procedures and oncologic patient needs.
- ONS chemotherapy certification is a plus.
