Key Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered nursing care to acutely ill or injured patients in an Emergency Department setting.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring accurate documentation of treatment and patient responses.
  • Triages and prioritizes patient care based on acuity, implementing care plans and monitoring patient conditions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, compassionate care that meets clinical and emotional needs.
  • Follow all policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, including Texas Board of Nursing standards and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Utilize critical thinking and decisiveness to respond effectively to emergency situations, maintaining composure and adaptability under stress.
  • Facilitate patient transfers and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition and clear communication.
  • Contribute to departmental policy development and staff training initiatives to promote best practices in emergency care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, ongoing professional development, and performance evaluations to support a positive team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid and current Registered Nurse license in Texas (or compact license with Texas).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Current certifications in ACLS and PALS.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an RN in an Emergency Department setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication abilities.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with respiratory care tools such as capnography, pulse oximetry, and aerosolized treatments.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations applicable to emergency healthcare settings.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively.
