Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population.
• Titrate medication drips, primarily Heparin, as prescribed, and monitor patient responses.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient treatments, discharge planning, and diagnostics.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies.
• Respond to emergency situations and escalate as needed while maintaining patient safety.
• Assist with patient assessments, medication administration, and IV starts when applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Illinois RN license or active application underway.
• BLS certification.
• Ability to titrate Heparin drips.
• Active Illinois RN licensure or proof of licensure process initiation.
• Last four digits of Social Security Number and middle initial for compliance.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a medical-surgical unit handling a wide range of diagnoses such as GI bleeds, sepsis, CHF, COVID-19, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, DVT, pulmonary embolisms, and elderly care.
• Knowledge of telemetry monitoring; familiarity with Phillips monitors preferred.
• Experience with patient care tech duties and unit-specific procedures.
