Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for cardiac and intermediate care patients in a 34-bed unit.
- Ensure completion and accuracy of provider orders, including procedures such as chest tube insertions and medication titrations.
- Utilize equipment like EPIC charting, Omnicell, Alaris IV pumps, and central monitoring systems.
- Perform advanced skills including central line care, Foley catheter insertion, post-procedure monitoring (pacemakers, TAVR, angiograms), and hemodynamic management.
- Maintain compliance with unit protocols, including proper badge in/out procedures and uniform standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent cardiology nursing experience, proficient in central line care, chest tubes, Foley insertions, and post-procedure patient management.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
- Valid RN license in ND or a compact state license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced cardiology/IMC environment with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically ranging from 1:3 to 1:5.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with heparin and insulin infusions, post-Pacemaker and TAVR care, and management of cardiac diagnoses such as CHF, AFIB, and RVR.
- Familiarity with EPIC charting, Omnicell, and Alaris IV pumps preferred.
