Key Responsibilities
- Teach and support students in grades 3-5 within a self-contained special education program.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' social-emotional and behavioral needs.
- Manage a caseload of up to three scholars, providing targeted instruction and behavioral support.
- Collaborate with team members and support staff to create a positive learning environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in accordance with district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Special Education (SPED) certification for grades 3-5 preferred.
- Willingness to accept general education certification, E-sub certificates, or other teaching certificates issued through OSPI.
- Experience working with students with social-emotional and behavioral challenges is a plus.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience teaching in self-contained special education classrooms.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and IEP development.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
