Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients on a 42-bed Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit, primarily focusing on respiratory conditions such as pneumonia, COPD, and other lung diseases.
- Float between units and hospitals as needed, providing flexible support across departments.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for daily patient rounds and coordinated care delivery.
- Monitor and record patient progress, administer treatments, and manage care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Cover a respiratory step-down unit with an 8-bed capacity, maintaining a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
- Adhere to hospital protocols, maintain documentation in Meditech EMR, and uphold patient safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a valid Compact license (no temporary licenses accepted).
- Associate degree in Nursing.
- BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a respiratory or step-down unit preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to float as needed.
- Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records.
