Key Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to patients with cerebrovascular disease, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, amputations, neurological conditions, and deconditioning.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team including physiatrists, nurse practitioners, therapists, and social workers to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Work with patients during approximately 3 hours of daily therapy sessions, Monday through Friday.
  • Support patient recovery and rehabilitation in a 24-bed inpatient unit with an average length of stay of around 2 weeks.
  • Assist in coordinating patient care and monitor recovery progress, ensuring adherence to facility protocols.
  • Floats within scope to meet facility needs, including coverage for various shifts if required.

Required Qualifications

  • Active WV/Compact RN license (or pending, with active license required prior to start).
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in a rehabilitation setting.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association required).
  • Experience with neurological, trauma, or stroke patients preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with teamwork and adaptability.

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Charge nurse experience desired.
  • Familiarity with Cerner charting systems.
  • Experience with complex rehabilitation cases such as SCI, TBI, and neuromuscular disorders.
  • Willingness to work a flexible, block schedule including every other weekend.
