Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy, EGD, and bronchoscopy.
- Circulate, monitor, and recover patients receiving conscious sedation using Olympus scopes and processors.
- Document procedures accurately using Epic electronic charting system.
- Collaborate with physicians and team members to ensure safety and quality care during endoscopic cases.
- Float within scope to meet departmental needs, including like units or sister facilities as required.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including radiology badges and radiology safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Compact/State Nursing License for South Carolina.
- At least 1 year of current experience in Endoscopy or related GI procedures.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience with EPIC and PRC systems.
- Knowledge of circulating procedures, bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD.
- Ability to monitor and administer conscious sedation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain radiology badge.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a teaching hospital setting.
- Familiarity with Olympus scopes and processors.
- Previous experience with sedation monitoring and recovery.
