Schedule / Job Type

• Night shifts, 3-12 hour shifts per week, contract

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to emergency room patients during night shifts.
• Assist with complex procedures including insertion of central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and intubations.
• Manage patients post-cardiac arrest, including hypothermia protocols, code strokes, STEMI, and trauma cases.
• Respond to emergency codes such as code blue and code stemi, and participate in trauma and pediatric patient care.
• Transfer patients and handle sexual assault and mental health cases until appropriate placement is found.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ER nursing experience.
• Valid nursing license in Illinois.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, NIH.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Willingness to float within scope between hospital units and different hospital campuses if needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Certification in CPI or TNCC is a plus.
• Experience managing advanced procedures and diverse trauma cases.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic charting system.

Note: This position is open to local candidates within a 75-mile radius. RQI cards are not accepted. The role does not require call, and guaranteed hours are 36 per week for 3-12s or 48 hours for 4-12s.
