Nights, full-time, 3x12 or 4x12 shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Level I trauma hospital specializing in cardiac telemetry.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias, manage arrhythmias, and respond to emergency situations using rapid response teams.
• Administer IV therapies, including blood products, and manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral IVs.
• Assist with post-cardiac procedures such as angiograms, MIs, and cardiac catheterizations, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
• Utilize advanced respiratory equipment including CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, and oxygen therapy; ensure proper airway management.
• Follow infection control protocols, wound care procedures, and maintain accurate documentation within the Cerner electronic charting system.

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent telemetry or cardiac care experience.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIH preferred.
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and emergency responses.
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication management including cardiac drips and heparin protocols.
• Experience with telemetry units, both on-unit and remote monitoring.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience managing post-cardiac angiograms, MI, or cardiac cath recovery.
• Familiarity with chest tube management, external CPAP/BIPAP, and portable oxygen equipment.
• Knowledge of infection control and wound care protocols including wound vac management.
• Prior experience with Cerner electronic medical records.
