Key Responsibilities
- Manage and care for adult and geriatric ICU patients with a focus on cardiovascular needs, including open heart procedures and balloon pump management
- Interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs) to monitor patient status
- Administer IV medications, including insulin protocols, and manage intravenous lines such as central lines and PICC lines
- Care for ventilated patients, including suctioning and ventilator management
- Monitor and care for patients with arterial lines and blood products, ensuring safety and compliance
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
- Cardiovascular nursing experience, including open heart and balloon pump procedures
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIH, VIP, MAB, or CPI certifications (in-person courses only)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with IV insulin protocols, arterial line care, and blood product administration
- Strong ability to interpret dysrhythmias and ABGs
- Experience with ventilated patient care and complex ICU procedures
