Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate, plan, and administer medically prescribed physical therapy programs in hospital and outpatient settings to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or limb loss.
• Develop individualized treatment plans, set achievable goals, and monitor progress to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education on post-discharge management and therapeutic techniques, adapting approaches for patients with varied comprehension or physical capabilities.
• Document patient assessments, treatment sessions, and progress accurately; report and charge accordingly.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and other staff as assigned; may assume additional supervisory responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor.
• Participate in department initiatives such as Performance Improvement, Infection Control, Safety, and Educational programs.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association accredited program
• Current California Physical Therapy license
• BLS certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Clinical specialty certification as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association (preferred)
• Experience in acute care, skilled nursing, outpatient, or sub-acute settings (preferred)
