• Night shifts, 13-week travel assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, including open heart procedures, thoracic surgeries, and vascular repairs.
• Manage a primary patient population that includes heart failure, chest pain, sepsis, and other medical cardiology diagnoses.
• Monitor and care for post-operative surgical patients, including epidural management, chest tube care, and IV medication management.
• Administer cardiac medications and GTTs, ensuring patient safety and stability.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Follow unit policies and protocols, including emergency procedures and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina or the ability to obtain one.
• At least 2 years of experience as a registered nurse.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications.
• Prior stepdown, telemetry, or CV surgery experience.
• Ability to work night shifts and accommodate weekend work as scheduled.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Recent experience (within the past year) in cardiovascular surgery or vascular surgery.
• ICU or CVICU experience in a similar setting.
• Familiarity with cardiac medications, epidural management, and complex post-op care.
