Key Responsibilities
- Provide preadmission testing and patient preparation for surgery
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to ensure smooth patient flow
- Follow unit policies and protocols, including ASPAN guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR system
- Support patient comfort and safety during preoperative assessments
- Adhere to dress code: hospital scrubs or royal blue scrubs
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of RN experience, ideally in PreOp, Day Surgery, or PACU
- Previous experience in Day Surgery or PACU settings required
- Valid RN license for the state of Texas
- Ability to work on varied shifts, including potential on-call duties
- Strong communication and personable demeanor, easy-going and pleasant personality
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with preadmission testing or preoperative patient care
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
- Knowledge of ASPAN guidelines and relevant procedures
