Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Location: Springfield, IL

Schedule / Job Type: Full-time, night shifts (3x12-hour shifts, start at 4:45 PM), on-site

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a 23-bed Medical Surgical unit during night shifts
• Manage patients with PICC lines, starting IVs, and other invasive procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver quality patient care
• Document patient conditions and interventions accurately using Cerner electronic charting system
• Float within scope as needed to meet facility needs
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards

Required Qualifications:

• Valid active Illinois RN license or in process with ETA
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• BLS and NIH certifications required
• Experience with PICC line management and starting IVs
• Ability to work every other weekend

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Previous charge nurse responsibilities
• Familiarity with Cerner charting system
• Experience in a Level I trauma center or magnet hospital setting
