Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and process tissue specimens for histological analysis, including embedding, sectioning, and staining slides.
• Receive and accession surgical specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Collect tissue blocks from pathology staff and ensure proper processing.
• Assist with microscopic slide preparation and staining procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Document procedures and specimen details accurately within lab systems.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a pathology laboratory, specifically in histology.
• Successful completion of formal histology technologist training or possess an Associate’s degree in chemical, physical, or biological sciences.
• ASCP certification (HT/HLT) preferred or required.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems, such as Cerner.
• Knowledge of pathology procedures including Cytology and Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience handling surgical specimens and histology equipment.
• Familiarity with accessioning and processing tissue samples.
• Strong attention to detail and compliance with safety protocols.

Note:
Candidates must be willing to work two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s Day) and one minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve).
