Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a telemetry unit with a focus on medical-surgical and telemetry needs.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergency situations with proficiency in interpreting dysrhythmias.
  • Manage cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and IV therapies, including blood product administration and central line care.
  • Assess and care for patients post cardiac procedures such as angiograms, caths, and surgeries, while maintaining patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes and compliance with protocols.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to unit policies including RTO and shift schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in telemetry and medical-surgical care.
  • Experience working with adult and geriatric patient populations.
  • Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Valid ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
  • Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, medication management, and respiratory support.
  • Able to work on the unit and remotely monitor telemetry data.
  • Must be able to wear scrubs (royal blue) and work night shifts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment without first two weeks of RTO.
  • References with high ratings (level 4-5).

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience with post-cardiac procedures, thoracic care, and ventilated patient management.
  • Familiarity with external CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy, and chest tube care.
  • Experience managing Vasoactive drips without titration.
