Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care in an ICU setting, including monitoring and managing critically ill patients.
• Administer vasoactive drips, IV infusions, and blood products while ensuring adherence to protocols.
• Recognize and treat dysrhythmias, including interpretation of telemetry and management of related conditions.
• Utilize advanced procedures such as arterial line management, PICC line care, tracheostomy, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management.
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records and monitor bedside telemetry with remote backup.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU or stepdown nursing experience.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.
• Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and conscious sedation.
• Proficiency with arterial lines, vasoactive infusions, and IV start protocols.
• Ability to recognize and respond to ICU patient emergencies promptly.
• Valid nursing license for the state of North Carolina.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working with post-op GYN, GU, GI, neuro, ortho, or thoracic patients.
• Familiarity with high-flow nasal cannula, BIPAP, chest tubes, and trach management.
• Prior travel nursing experience accepted and encouraged.
