Job Title

Schedule / Job Type
• Full-time, night shifts, 36-hour weekly schedule, 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
• 13-week assignment possible

Key Responsibilities
• Provide specialized neuro-critical care for patients, including stroke, hemorrhagic events, and neurosurgical cases
• Manage patients with invasive devices such as EVDs, lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring systems
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and perform central line care
• Administer continuous IV sedation and manage ventilated patients according to best practices
• Ensure compliance with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive stroke and neuro intensive care

Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Neuro ICU or Neuro Critical Care
• Strong neuro-specific skills including EVD management, ICP monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Certification (NIHP)
• Ability to pass EKG testing prior to start
• Experience with neuro-specific equipment such as neuro drains, Camino systems, and LICOX monitoring

Preferred Experience / Skills
• Experience with arterial line management and external ventricular drains (EVD)
• Prior travel nurse experience (unit accepts travelers with previous hospital experience, not first-time travelers)
• Comfortable working with high patient acuity in a fast-paced neuro-critical environment

This position involves no on-site work out of booked schedule, and RTO (Request for Time Off) is not permitted after booking. Any additional RTO or call-offs may result in cancellation. Candidates must be comfortable with high acuity neuro cases and adapt to a flexible nurse-to-patient ratio, which can extend up to 3:1 during high census periods.
