Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Cardiothoracic Surgery (CVOR) environment using the nursing process.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team to coordinate care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, documenting according to policy.
- Ensure patient safety, timely, effective, and equitable care, adhering to standards and protocols.
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel on clinical duties.
- Complete patient education, assessment, and competency testing in accordance with unit standards.
Required Qualifications
- Successfully completed at least one 13-week travel nursing assignment.
- Minimum of two years of current experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Ability to scrub in surgical procedures.
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS certification through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- EPIC electronic medical records experience (training provided if not).
- PALS and ACLS certifications are preferred but not required.
